Bel Royal shine in the Jerriais Section of the Jersey Eisteddfod

Athena and Emily, who are both in Year 6 and Isaac, who is in Year 3, recently took part in the Jèrriais Section of the Jersey Eisteddfod, which was held at St Ouen’s Parish hall. Emily and Athena chose to perform the poem ‘Caton, Oh Caton’, a translation of Pussycat, Pussycat in the primary school pairs section of the competition and, despite initially being a little nervous, they gave a fantastic performance on stage and were deservedly awarded a gold certificate. Issac entered the Primary individual class and chose ‘Pétille, Pétille P’tite Êtaile’ or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Despite being up against nearly twenty other competitors, Isaac gave a lovely performance of the poem and was also awarded a gold certificate. All the children did fantastically well, especially as they have only been learning Jèrriais since September!

Hardi bein fait!
