Bel Royal Primary School

Valuables & Personal Property

We actively discourage pupils from bringing valuable items and toys into school to avoid any lost or broken valuables which can cause obvious distress to families.

However, if a pupil does so, then we, as a school, cannot accept responsibility for it if it gets broken or lost.

Electronic items are not allowed unless specific permission has been given by a member of staff to aid learning or as part of a significant event.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones are not permitted in school unless prior approval has been granted by the Headteacher for specific safeguarding reasons, such as medical needs or other exceptional circumstances. This policy ensures a safe and focused learning environment while prioritising the welfare of all pupils. Any requests for exceptions must be made directly to the Headteacher and will be carefully considered upholding our commitment to safeguarding. We appreciate the cooperation of parents and guardians in supporting this policy, which helps us create a secure and respectful school community and avoids any risk of damage or lost personal property.

Mobile phones that are brought to school must be, and remain, turned off during the school day and handed in to the class teacher or office to be kept securely throughout the school day. Individual pupils are responsible for their own phones and the school cannot accept responsibility for these should they get broken or lost.

Lost Property

We do not have a lost property box. Please make sure that all items of clothing are clearly marked with your child’s name. If items are marked, they can easily be returned to their owner. The school will not accept responsibility for missing items.
